Established in 2016In November 2016, the GROW Decatur County Foundation Fund was established through utilizing a matching campaign initiative offered through the Dane G. Hansen Foundation. Incoming donations into this endowment fund were matched $1 for $1 up to $50,000. The Decatur County communities, exceeded their portion of the incoming contributions by more than double; raising approximately $115,000 prior to adding in the $50,000 match. In subsequent years, local support came through and the fund has since passed the $1 million mark!

Our GoalGROW Decatur County Foundation strives to improve and enhance the lives of all Decatur County residents. In the last eight years GROW has granted a million dollars to local community organizations and projects. Each of these grants furthers the goal of making Decatur County an inviting place to live and visit.

Our DirectorKaren Storrs is the Foundation Director of the GROW Decatur County Foundation. Karen joined GROW in August of 2024 as the full-time director.

Serving on the GROW board goes back to my roots. My roots were put down in Decatur County the day I was born and I never pulled them up.
